Suvorov military schools were founded on August 21, 1943 to the training and education of children of soldiers of the Soviet Army and Navy, the guerrillas, government and party officials, workers and farmers, died in the Great Patriotic War. In 1943 there were created eleven Suvorov schools, and six in 1944.
Moscow Suvorov Military School traces its history from the Gorky Suvorov Military School, formed in the city of Gorky in the period from July 4, 1944 to October 1, 1944. In August 1956, it was relocated to Moscow and received a new name Moscow Suvorov Military School.
For 53 years Moscow Suvorov Military School graduated about 9500 cadets.
