由於蘇格蘭一直沒有官方版的國歌，因此蘇格蘭皇家管絃樂團在2006年6月舉辦國歌網路票選，此曲以29%得票率居次，僅次於〈蘇格蘭之花〉(The Flower of Scotland)。不過《勇士無畏進行曲》仍被許多蘇格蘭人視為非官方版的蘇格蘭國歌。此曲是加拿大國軍不列顛哥倫比亞騎兵管樂隊(The British Columbia Dragoons of Her Majesty's Canadian Armed Forces)的指定進行曲，美國維吉尼亞色軍校與塞岱爾軍校每週五校閱時也演奏此曲。2006年，蘇格蘭皇家軍團(Royal Regiment of Scotland)亦採用此曲為急行軍指定曲。
