最近才有機會審視到阿公(外公)、阿嬤留下的衣物服飾。我生也晚，外公在我五六歲時仙逝，還有的片斷記憶是聽收音機京戲、有濃濃台北腔的阿公。阿嬤雖有機會相處久一點，但印象中仍是樸實穿著粗布衣、在木圓餐桌上留一碗用木頭蓋蓋著的溫豆花的慈祥阿嬤。端視這些衣物，像是打開了時光膠囊，忽然看到了過去，卻陌生得很難把阿公阿嬤的印象和這些服飾串連起來。
這些服飾裡最顯眼的是裝在完整皮盒內的絲質帽，應是外公出席重要場合時的禮帽，還有一條細鱷魚背脊皮製成的皮帶。阿嬤的衣飾也莊重華麗，包括絲繡飾邊的上衣與長裙，和這雙菊元百貨出品的足袋(我很難想像著和服的阿嬤!)。60, 70年後突然間，我彷彿見到了阿公阿嬤年輕時的摩登浪漫、與那個台灣開始與西方文明接軌的時代的一小片縮影！
Until a few months ago, I first time had chance to see my Taipei grandparents' old clothings which have been long time well kept by my past antie in the wood closets for the last 30 years. Being the youngest in the family, my only memory for grandfather is his Taipei asscent and vague image that he listened to the Beijing opera on the radio. And, the images I left for grandmother is that she always left a bowel of Dao-huai covered with a wood lid on the dining round table in the kithen.
